Dear Family of Rotary,
It is an honor to serve as your Rotary International Director during the coming two years. It’s a pleasure for Diane and me to invite you and your Rotary partner to join your fellow Rotary leaders — past, present and future — for the 2007 Rotary Zone Institute in Long Beach, California.
It was 102 years ago that Paul Harris exemplified The Power Of One when he envisioned the need for ethical professionals to gather in fellowship, and launched an organization that continues to make a remarkable difference at home and around the world.
Our 2007 Zones 23/24 Institute will spotlight how The Power of One Rotarian — and “one club,” “one district” or “one zone” — can ignite Service Above Self. We will gather at the sun bathed Hilton Long Beach to renew our friendships and commitment during class reunions, interactive sessions, and special events.
Our Institute Planning Committee is working especially hard to provide an outstanding program line-up while providing plenty of free time to explore Southern California. Long Beach is home to the Aquarium of the Pacific, the majestic Queen Mary and many other popular attractions including a boat ride to nearby Catalina Island.
Future District Governors will be training at their GNATS and GETS sessions from 8-11 October. These Rotary leaders and their families will then join the 2007 Institute running from the evening of October 11th through the morning of the 14th.
We encourage you to register now for the Institute if you have not already done so. Institute details, hotel information and pre-and post Institute options are being updated frequently on the www.rotaryzone2324.org website, so please go there often.
Diane and I look forward to greeting you in Long Beach!
Paul Netzel
